Question by Mar Star: I’m taking up scrapbooking, any tips?
I have a small kit I got as a gift, it has some letters, ribbons etc. What I don’t have are pages. Should I buy one of those card stock packs? I purchased a few single sheets the other day, but I don’t know how to get started. How can I make borders and frames to go around my pictures. I was also considering buying a cricut machine I saw on TV….is it worth it?

I shop on the site www.ScrapBuck.com they have thousands of items under a 1.00 the shipping is 7bucks flat rate. There are many different types of scrapbooks. You will be able to find ideas in anything from flowers to other people pages if you like to Scrap-Lift.
Do a search on Google for scrapbook layouts. HSN and QVC have scrap booking shows for 3days straight about once a month. On PBS every Saturday they have a show called ScrapBook Memories.
If you think you will be using alot of die cut shapes or if you just don’t like the idea of tracing and cutting out things consider investing in a Personal Die Cutting machines. A Xyron will run you around 80 a Cricut will run you around 500 but it is top of the line and on every scrapbookers wish list. Keep in mind that the disks you need to use it are between 40 and 80$ a piece. It just depends how much a part of your life scrap booking will become.
Start out slow. Get some solid color paper, afew pieces of patterned paper, some acid free glue such as a glue runner and some glue dots for heavy things, some gel pens, stickers, ribbon ,brads ,paper clips and flowers. Flowers are one of the most used scrap booking embellishes.
You can buy paper flowers, silk flowers of make your own. Look in the fabric section for ribbon and buttons. The options are endless. No page will be the same.
Plus your photos of course.
Have Fun
